Boss Set For Singapore Farewell

Glen Boss will participate in his final Singapore meeting as a contracted rider this Saturday.

Boss has seven rides on the 10-race card at Kranji racecourse which features three Group 1 races. He’ll partner horses trained by Michael Clements in each of the feature races.

The 49-year-old jockey is aboard Gingerella in the S$800,000 ($840,000) Lion City Cup (1200m), Siam Vipasiri, who is the only filly in the S$800,000 ($840,000) Singapore Guineas (1600m) field, and Countofmontecristo in the S$1.5m ($1.58m) Kranji Mile (1600m).

Boss announced earlier this month of his intention to return home to Australia. The three-time Melbourne Cup winner becomes the third jockey to exit Singapore midway through this season following the departures of Barend Vorster and Mauritian Nooresh Juglall.

Boss has ridden over 150 winners in Singapore, including five at Group 1 level, since registering his first success at Bukit Timah racecourse in 1996.
