Kiwi Connection To Brown’s Ton

New Zealand-bred five-year-old These Streets has provided Corey Brown with a notable milestone at Kranji.

The Cliff Brown-prepared son of Elusive City was the top Australian jockey’s 100th winner in Singapore when they successful combined in a class three event over 1400 metres on Sunday night.

The Melbourne Cup-winning jockey has quickly become one of the leading jockeys on the circuit, well-sought by trainers such as Michael Freedman, Laurie Laxon and Brown.

“It started off as a working holiday, but Singapore has been good to me and it’s a place I will now call home in the next few years,” he said.

Beginning his Kranji stint last year on a short-term contract, Brown has turned Singapore into a more permanent working base in the last 12 months, with frequent jaunts back to Australia.
