20th Winner For Deep Field

Newgate Farm’s exciting young sire Deep Field added a 20th first crop winner to his tally with an impressive debut victory at Morphettville on Saturday for Deep Force.

The Tony McEvoy trained gelding was a hot favourite and led all the way to win the 1050 metre scamper by a length and a quarter as a hot favourite.

An $80,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Riversdale draft for McEvoy Mitchell Racing, Deep Force is a half-brother to stakes-placed Kapset and is the fifth winner from good producer Kapala, a half-sister to Group I Cox Plate winner Pinker Pinker.

Kapala was one of 246 mares covered last spring by Deep Field, who stands this spring at a fee of $44,000.
