Black Type Next For Dublin Lass

Progressive mare Dublin Lass handled a rise in weight and class to win in dominant style at Rosehill on Saturday for Peter and Paul Snowden, the win a timely boost for her yearling half-brother who will be offered by Luskin Park at the 2015 Magic Millions.

Previously prepared by John O’Shea, Dublin Lass was second at her first two runs back from a spell for her new trainers and broke through to win at Canterbury on November 14.

Stepped up in grade to a Benchmark 80 over 1300 metres and given 58 kg, Dublin Lass confirmed her potential when dashing clear to win by nearly two lengths for Blake Shinn.

“He rode her to her strengths as she has a great 200 metre sprint if held up and can show a real turn of foot,” said Peter Snowden.

“She’s on a roll now so we’ll look towards some Black Type for her.”

The four year old daughter of O’Reilly has four wins and three seconds from just 10 starts with prizemoney topping $136,000.

Dublin Lass was a $250,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Luskin Park and runs for a syndicate that includes her breeders Paul Whelan and Wilf Mula.

She is the first foal of lightly raced Elusive Quality (USA) mare Fashion Police, a grand-daughter of Group II winner Fine Recipe from the family of Group I VATC Blue Diamond winner Midnight Fever and Group I VRC Australian Guineas winner Rock Classic, who was also bred and sold by Luskin Park.

Her second foal, a two year-old gelding by Manhattan Rain called Mr Manhattan is in work with Joe Pride.

The current yearling from Fashion Police is a colt by Starcraft that will be offered by Luskin Park at the Gold Coast as Lot 233.

He is one of four yearlings headed north for Luskin Park joining two other colts by Sepoy and Duporth as well as a lovely filly by Snitzel.
