Randwick Winner For Holy Roman Emperor

Consistent sprinter Arise Augustus made it back to back metropolitan wins when the five year-old son of Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) scored a dominant victory at Randwick on Saturday.

Prepared at Tuncurry by Terry Evens, Arise Augustus won his previous start at Canterbury and revelled in the soft ground to win this Benchmark 78 event over 1000 metres by a length and a half.

A $25,000 Inglis Classic purchase for his trainer from the Golden Grove draft, Arise Augustus has been a terrific investment for his owners racking up eight wins and 12 placings from 41 starts with prizemoney topping $180,000.

A half-brother to Group I placed Bridget’s Academy, Arise Augustus is one of six winners from good producing Rory’s Jester mare Pokey Hill.

His sire Holy Roman Emperor will shuttle to Aquis Farm this spring at a fee of $9,900 offering Queensland breeders a unique opportunity to breed to a high class son of Danehill.

The sire of winners of over $3.8 million in Australia this season alone, highlighted by stakes-winners Mongolian Khan (Caulfield Cup), Sheidel and Setinum, Holy Roman Emperor is a versatile stallion that has left sprinters, stayers and everything in between.

He has achieved Group I success right around the globe siring seven Group I winners in seven different countries.
