From the most dominant and sought after sire line in the Australian Stud Book, Va Pensiero displayed a blistering turn of foot at 2yrs before becoming one of his generations best sprinters at 3yrs. He had genuine Group 1 ability, however his race career was interrupted by a recurring tendon injury which ultimately ended his career in the 2016 Group 1 Lightning Stakes.

The San Domenico has firmly established itself as a “sire-making” race in Australia, with the likes of FOXWEDGE, DUPORTH, CHARGE FORWARD, TESTA ROSSA and GENERAL NEDIYM all previous winners.

Similarly, the Run To The Rose is developing a big reputation as a sire-making race with EXOSPHERE, HALLOWED CROWN, PIERRO, SMART MISSILE, and DENMAN all winners of this prestigious sprint.

An outstanding individual, Va Pensiero has a beautiful galloping action, brilliant gate speed and a real desire to win.

This top class sprinter retires to stud in 2016 with the overall record of three wins and three seconds from sixteen starts with earnings of $387,600.
