Triple Group 1 winner Sunlight will headline a monstrous opening day at this year’s Magic Millions National Sale, the program for which was released on Wednesday morning.
The sale – which will be conducted with buyers and vendors ringside at the Gold Coast complex – will commence on July 20 with a 147-lot race fillies and mares section that features a number of Group 1 winners.
In addition to Sunlight, who won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in addition to a Newmarket Handicap, Coolmore Stud Stakes and William Reid Stakes, Australian Oaks winner Unforgotten and Tatt’s Tiara winner Invincibella, who also won three editions of the $1m Magic Millions F&M event, will be offered.
The race fillies and mares session will commence at 2pm, while the second and third days of what is the youngest National Broodmare Sale catalogue ever, with more than 54 per cent either a maiden mare or at first cover, will commence at 10am on July 21 and 22.
The National Sale will then roll straight into the 309-lot Weanling Sale on July 23 and 24.
The Sale will break for the weekend before yearlings are offered on Monday, July 27 and the start of Tuesday, July 28 with the tried horses sale to follow the yearlings on Tuesday.
The Queensland border is presently closed, but the State Government has indicated borders will be reopened no later than July 10 and Magic Millions has already formulated a COVID-safe plan that will permit ringside bidding.
