Sydney Double Welcome News For Hallmark Stud

While the connections of Saturday’s dual Sydney stakes winners Tiger Tees and Terravista were undoubtedly delighted for their success there were also brood smiles at Te Kauwhata’s Hallmark Stud who are preparing Super Easy for his second season in the breeding barn this year.

The multiple Singapore Group One winner, who was twice voted Singapore Horse of the Year, is from Gold Brose mare Parfore who is also the dam of both Tiger Tees and Terravista. The son of Darci Brahma served 125 mares in his first season after arriving from Singapore in September last year and looks likely to cover a similar number this season.

“He did a super job last year as we only got him in mid September due to the quarantine restrictions and he served his first mare only two hours after stepping off the float on to the property,” said Hallmark Stud principal Mark Baker.

“Consequently his foals will be a little later this year although he has had his first on the ground at Bradbury Park so we can’t wait for the first one here at home.

“They will all come in a rush and I’d expect to have 3 or 4 within the next week or so.”

While Baker is keen to see Super Easy’s first progeny on the ground he is just as excited by the support of local breeders who provided plenty of positive feedback during the annual Waikato Stallion Parade tour that visited their Te Kauwhata property on the weekend.

“The feedback from those on the tour was superb and confirms what we are seeing with the development of the horse,” said Baker.

“He has let down into a magnificent individual and really looks the goods.

“He is simply an Amazon now and if he can stamp his foals with similar good looks and the attributes he possessed it will be a great result for our local industry.”
