There might not be the usual crush to try and get a run in this year’s BMW Caulfield Cup, but there are still a few key decisions to be made in the coming days that will shape this year’s race.
With connections of the Chris Waller-trained Grand Marshal, Lindsay Park’s Almoonqith and Tony McEvoy’s Big Memory yet to finalise a decision on whether they run, Racing.com’s likely final field is listed below.
Should any of that trio not accept on Tuesday, it would pave the way for fast-finishing Herbert Power Stakes third placegetter Pemberley to gain a spot, with connections advising they are keen to run if he does get into the final field of 18.
Others in line to gain a start are the Grant Kluske-trained JRA Cup fourth placegetter Go Dreaming andDanny O’Brien’s De Little Engine, who is also a confirmed runner if he gets in, with the six-year-old to head the Coongy Stakes if he doesn’t make the field.
