Winners For 2017 Gold Coast Magic Millions Day

The big Magic Millions meeting will be held at the Gold Coast this Saturday. The course proper was rated a Good 4 and with fine weather leading up to the weekend, Gold Coast will be racing on a Good track on raceday.

The Tony Gollan-trained Most Important has been in terrific form and is primed to take out the Magic Millions Cup (Gold Coast Race 6, 1400m). The 4YO gelding has won 4 of his last 6 starts including the last 3 races in a row. He has beaten some handy gallopers this preparation including Too Good To Refuse and Ninth Legion. Jockey Robbie Fradd has formed a brilliant bond with Most Important being onboard the gelding in all his 4 victories this preparation. Most Important came up with barrier six, which could become three if the emergenciess fail to gain a start. From that gate, Fradd will be able to slot Most Important in just behind the pace and he could make it four wins on the trot on Saturday.

Winning Rupert is all the rage and is the deserved favourite for the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (Gold Coast Race 7, 1400m). The Bjorn Baker-trained colt is unbeaten winning all his 5 career starts. First up this prep at Eagle Farm over 1200m, Winning Rupert blitzed the field by almost 6 lengths before winning easily in the Gold Edition Stakes and Vo Rogue Plate. Stepping up to 1400m 4th up looks perfect. Winning Rupert has only been asked to carry 58kg, which is just 4kg above the limit. Jeff Lloyd will once again be onboard the 3YO. Drawn nicely in barrier 6, Lloyd will take the colt forward and share the lead with Artbeitsam, and Winning Rupert will be hard to catch.

Queensland horse Ours To Keep has won both starts this preparation in the Phelan Ready Stakes & BJ McLachlan Stakes and he is the testing material in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (Gold Coast Race 8, 1200m).  Trainer Chris Munce has kept the 2YO colt ticking along nicely and has reported that Ours To Keep had worked terrific on the Eagle Farm course proper last Saturday. He will certainly improve further 3rd up on Saturday. With a good gate (4), Damian Browne will settle Ours To Keep in the box seat and the colt will be ready to pounce in the straight. Currently, Ours To Keep is at pretty good odds at $7.00 in the fixed odds market.
