Winners For 2018 Hobartville Stakes Day

The Hobartville Stakes meeting will be held at Rosehill this Saturday. The course proper was rated a Good 4 on Thursday and with overcast weather leading up to the weekend, Rosehill is likely to be racing on a Good track on raceday.

The mighty consistent Cellarman is looking to continue his winning streak in the Slipperstyle Handicap (Sydney Race 2, 1500m). Cellarman has been up a long time but is still going strong, winning 5 times in his past 8 starts. This 4YO gelding has won his past two runs by box-seating. He has drawn gate 5 on Saturday, and will be able to settle just behind the leaders again. Blake Shinn retains the ride on the gelding. Cellarman is primed to make it 3 wins on the trot on Saturday.

Magic Millions Classic winner Sunlight is a pure speedster and the 1100m in the Silver Slipper will suit her perfectly (Sydney Race 3, 1100m).  Since her debut 3rd in the Maribyrnong Trial in early October, Sunlight has been unbeaten winning all her 3 starts at the Gold Coast track. This Zoustar filly has tremendous tactical speed and can do it on both ends in a race. From barrier 4, Tim Clark will take the filly straight to the front and Sunlight will be hard to catch.

Lonhro colt Kementari can emerge victorious amongst a hot field in the Hobartville Stakes (Sydney Race 7, 1400m). This Godolphin-owned 3YO had shown outstanding potential by running 2nd in the Caulfield Guineas in the Spring, beating good horses like Catchy in the process. Kementari has come back bigger and stronger this preparation and he blitzed the field when 1st up in the Eskimo Prince Stakes. Kementari has been set for the Randwick Guineas so stepping up to 1400m 2nd up is perfect progression. From barrier 9, Glyn Schofield will settle the colt wherever he is comfortable. With his great turn-of-foot, Kementari will be hard to hold out in the run home.
