Winners For 2015 Winter Cup Day

The Winter Cup meeting will be held at Rosehill this Saturday. The course proper was rated a Heavy 8 on Thursday and with fine weather leading up to the weekend, Rosehill could be racing on a Soft track on raceday.

Chris Waller and Blake Shinn can combine to take out the opening event at Rosehill with top weight Libidosun (Sydney Race 1, 1400m). The 2YO gelding has been racing in good form in his first preparation winning two races and a fighting 2nd in his last start on a Heavy 10 track. Stepping up to 1400m suits him and so will the anticipated Soft condition. From barrier 3, Shinn will settle just behind the leaders and Libidosun will be the horse they all have to beat.

Blake Shinn can take out the Dyldam Significant Stakes with another top weight in It’s About You (Sydney Race 3, 1900m).  The Peter Moody-trained 3YO has been going great gun winning 3 of his past 5 starts. Even though he has drawn the outside barrier (9), he should be able to slot in with only 9 runners in the race. And the Soft condition wouldn’t faze him either. It’s About You will provide Shinn with a tremendous winning chance.

After his victory in the Ipswich Cup, Danchai can take out another feature race in Saturday’s Winter Cup (Sydney Race 4, 2400m). The 6YO has slowly stepping up in distance this preparation culminating to his last start victory in the Ipswich Cup (2150m). The 2400m on Saturday looks ideal for Danchai 4th up. Champion jockey Hugh Bowman will take over the rein and from barrier 1, Danchai will be able to relax settling mid-field along the fence. Dancahi is ready to make it 2 wins on the trot.

The Waller and Shinn show can roll on with another victory, this time with the 5YO You’ll Never in the Perfection Fresh Handicap (Sydney Race 6, 1500m). The Commands gelding won his first two starts this preparation before a close 3rd to Mirage last start over 1400m, and You’ll Never will be meeting that horse 2kg better on Saturday. You’ll Never revels in Slow condition as he has won & placed 6 times from 10 attempts. Barrier 1 will allow Shinn plenty of options on where to settle the gelding in transit. Currently at $6.50 in the fixed odds market, You’ll Never represents a value bet.
