Winners For 2018 All Aged Stakes Day

The All Aged Stakes meeting will be held at Royal Randwick this Saturday. The course proper was rated a Good 4 on Thursday and with fine weather in Sydney over the next couple of days, Randwick will be racing on a Good track on raceday.

Godolphin-owned Dissolute has won his past 2 starts and he can make it a hat-trick of wins in the APN Outdoor Handicap (Sydney Race 2, 1200m). This 4YO gelding has been slowly stepping up in grade and he has finally come of age by easily winning a BM83 handicap last start at Rosehill. With a fair bit of pace in the race, Tye Angland will probably settle the gelding somewhere mid-field from barrier 6 and Dissolute will finish strongly in the run home.

Team Snowden-trained Dothraki has been in good form this preparation and is primed to take out the Hall Mark Stakes on Saturday (Sydney Race 3, 1200m). Though a 7YO, Dothraki is racing in career best form having won the Group 3 Maurice McCarten Stakes two starts back with a further three 2nd placings in his last 5 starts. In-form rider Tye Angland will once again be aboard the gelding and from barrier 6, Dothraki can take up his usual role sitting just behind the leader in a one off one back position. Dothraki will prove hard to catch.

TJ Smith Stakes winner Trapeze Artist is ready to peak in Saturday’s Group 1 All Aged Stakes (Sydney Race 7, 1400m). The Snitzel 3YO won his first Group 1 race in the Golden Rose over this trip (1400m) last Spring. Trapeze Artist has come back well this Autumn by winning 1st up in the Expressway Stakes before finishing behind the form horse of the Autumn Carnival Kementari in his next 2 starts. He then came back in trip in the TJ Smith after a 4 week break and he duly won the Group 1 sprint by 2 lengths. Stepping up to 1400m on Saturday will suit even better. Without a natural leader in the All Aged Stakes, Angland could take the colt forward and control the pace of the race. Trapeze Artist is set to add another Group 1 victory to his CV.
