Heathcote Chasing Travelling Expenses For Italian Break

Trainer Rob Heathcote is hoping to pick up travelling expenses for his next overseas holiday from his trio of runners in the Sky Racing Tattersall’s Mile at Doomben on Saturday.

Heathcote will take his annual break to Italy from Sunday week and gives his three runners, No Annamossity, Lordag and Ruling Dynasty solid chances of claiming the 1600-metre Listed feature.

No Annamossity will be chasing his third win from five starts this campaign while Ruling Dynasty will be out to maintain his unblemished record for Heathcote after winning his only two starts since leaving the Marcus Wilson stable.

Rising eight-year-old Lordag has been one of Heathcote’s most honest performers and is coming off a last start fourth behind Ruling Dynasty at Doomben on July 7.

No Annamossity has won two of his past three starts including his latest victory in a Benchmark race at Doomben the same day Ruling Dynasty was successful.

Heathcote had hoped No Annamossity would have measured up to some of the better sprints over the winter carnival but the astute Heathcote was in no rush with the four-year-old.

“He’s been racing well and it was a dominant win last start,” Heathcote said.

“I was hoping to look at some of the better races with him during the winter but he had some issues early in his career so there was no rush with him.

“He’s only four and there’s always next winter with him.

“This is an obvious step up in class and Sheiswhatsheis is thrown in at the weights while Princess Posh also looks very hard to beat.”

No Annamossity is a three-quarter brother to Heathcote’s former star sprinter Buffering.

He was sold for $75,000 as a yearling and has proven to be a sound investment despite fracturing a cannon bone early in his career.

“He fractured his cannon bone as a young horse and still races with two screws in his leg,” Heathcote said.

“I’m lucky he even got back to the racetrack and he’s won more than $243,000 in prizemoney.

“He’s only had four runs this campaign and there’s room for two more before he goes back out but there’s no plans to go south with him.”

Heathcote said Ruling Dynasty’s two wins for the stable were very strong.

“He was very good in trackwork this week when Jim Byrne rode him and he’s a good hope of making it three from three for us,” he said.

“Lordag is not without some hope either. He was caught wide when fourth last time and only got beaten about four lengths.”
