Mask Of Time Early Favourite For Ipswich Cup

Southern visitor Mask Of Time has been installed the early favourite for the 2019 Listed $175,000 Channel Seven Ipswich Cup (2150m) at Ipswich on Saturday.

Mask Of Time is one of nineteen nominations for the Ipswich Cup and is one of three for co-trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace who have also entered Lite’N In My Veins and Sopressa.

Early betting for the Ipswich Cup has Mask Of Time marked as the $3.50 favourite ahead of Lite’N In My Veins and the Kris Lees trained High Opinion at $5 and Sopressa at $6.

Mask Of Time hasn’t visited the winner’s stall since taking out the Group 3 $150,000 Ladbrokes Coongy Cup (2000m) at Caulfield during the 2018 Melbourne Spring Carnival and will find this easier than his last start tenth in the Group 2 $500,000 A.D. Hollindale Stakes (1800m) at the Gold Coast on May 4.

Lite’N In My Veins was a winner two starts back over 1600m at Morphettville before finishing eighth in the Group 3 $140,000 Ascot Green Lord Mayor’s Cup (1600m) at Eagle Farm on May 25 while Sopressa raced on the pace at Eagle Farm last Saturday before fading to finish seventh to Sixties Groove in the Group 2 $400,000 Lexus Brisbane Cup (2400m).

Toowoomba trainer Kevin Kemp has nominated the in-form Fighting Teo who has won his last two starts at Doomben and Toowoomba in restricted grade.
