Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 3, Magna Grecia@Coolmore Australia Hcp) She’s going to 1200m for the first time but she has come back well and ran terrific the other day (chasing home Fituese in the Listed Denise’s Joy (1100m) 2 weeks ago). It’s probably just as tough against the boys but she’s going well.
Horse: Bottega
Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 7,Lord Mayors Cup) Bottega had his first look at 2000m in the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate (in the Autumn) and finished a closing second behind boom three-year-old Kinane. I’m looking forward to getting him back to 2000m, he’s only had the one go at it and he was good behind a good horse. I’d like to see if he is a 2000m horse or if 1800m is going to pull him up. There’s another race in a few weeks time at Rosehill so we could poke through until that and then we have enough time to give him six weeks and come back late in the spring.

Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 1, Darley 2YO Hcp) Supremo will be giving away race experience to his rivals, but the well-bred two-year-old has indicated he is a quality colt as he prepares for his first test at the races. Supremo has won two of his three barrier trials. Everything he has done up to date has been top-class. He’s just got to do it in a race now.

Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 5, Trapeze Artist@Widden Hcp) We were thinking of taking her to Brisbane but just with the scenario at the moment we thought we’d just give her one more run here in Sydney, tick the 1200-metre box on Saturday and then give her a freshen up for the spring. She’s so relaxed so I think it’s not going to be a problem at all. Not only has she been winning impressively, she has been really good on the clock in both her runs this preparation, Every run she has she’s going over the line and pricking her ears and easing down. You would dare say she’s probably got more to give if she was challenged.

Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 4, Schweppes Hcp) Bad barriers have definitely been costing him races. I think it is a nice barrier (7) for him and he seems to get through the wet fine. He’s ready to rumble, Trumbull. We know he is good enough.
