Trio Of Waugh’s Gallopers Heading To Canterbury Park On Saturday

The Kim Waugh team will saddle up a trio of gallopers at Canterbury on Saturday, with last start winner Tickling taking her place in Race 1 Happy Birthday Martin King Handicap whilst Forget and Dylan’s Rojo are both second up heading into their respective assignments, race 7 and race 8.

Strong last start winner Tickling returns to her own age following her maiden victory over 1100m against older horses at Hawkesbury just over two weeks ago. The Not A Single Doubt filly has pleased all concerned and heads to her third run this prep fit and well as she returns to metropolitan racing for the first time this campaign. “I have been very happy with Tickling since her last start victory. We tinkered with her gear and she reacted in a positive manner controlling the race from the front. She is a filly that has shown good tactical speed and from a good gate we are hopeful she will again be able to sit handy. My only concern will be the heavy track, as a rule the Not A Single Doubt breed handy the wet,” added Kim. Tim Clark continues his association with Tickling after the pair were victorious at Hawkesbury, with the pair jumping from barrier 5

Forget lines up in race 7 July Sprint over 1100m taking on a class field of open class sprinters at his second run this campaign. The Exceed And Excel gelding resumed last Saturday at Randwick and after getting a long way out of his ground worked home well to finishing sixth. “Forget is very well, he came through his first up run in great order and with not a suitable races in the coming weeks we will head to Canterbury this Saturday,” added Kim. Forget has raced well over the track and distance in the past and from the rails drawn the stable is hopeful of being able to settle in a favourable position. Senior jockey Tim Clark takes over the ride aboard Forget in the July Sprint on Saturday.

Dylan’s Rojo resumed from a spell three and a half weeks ago in the Jungle Juice Cup at Cessnock stripping fitter as he returns to metropolitan racing this Saturday for his second up assignment, race 8 over 1250m. The Dylan Thomas gelding is a galloper who is rarely far away and does enjoy racing around the tight Canterbury circuit, having place three times from four starts at the track. “Dylan’s Rojo is very well, he has continued to make good progression from his first up run and whilst he will again take benefit from the run, I could not be happier with him heading into Saturday’s run. Dylan’s Rojo is a horse that like to take up a forward position and from barrier 10 we will again roll forward,” added Kim. Brenton Avdulla takes over the reins of Dylan’s Rojo in race 8 The Tab More Than Just Winning Handicap over 1250m.
