Top stallion Snitzel’s progeny have started the year with a bang.
On new year’s day, Gerald Ryan-trained Dances On Stars (Snitzel x Starnet, by Last Tycoon) won the Listed Tattersalls Club Carrington Stakes (1100m) at Randwick. Three weeks later, a magnificent Snitzel colt tops the Inglis Summer Classic Sale for $200,000.
Draft by Carramar Park, the Lot 396 colt (Snitzel x Sharp Hill, by Danehill) was purchased by McEvoy Mitchell Racing from South Australia.
Sydney trainer Ron Quinton had purchased the second top lot of the sale (Lot 366), a Not A Single Doubt colt for $170,000.
Following strong sale figures at the Gold Coast Yearling Sale, this year’s Summer Classic Sale have 15 lots by 13 different sires sold for $100,000 or above.
“This sale is really making a name for itself as the place to offer strong athletic types regardless of pedigree. Our bloodstock team focus on identifying those types and buyers have swarmed to snap them up here in Sydney,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.
