Winners For 2023 The Coast Day

The Coast meeting will be held at Gosford this Saturday (6th May). The course proper was rated a Soft 5 on Thursday and with mainly fine weather leading up to the weekend, Gosford will be racing on a Good track on raceday.

Last start winner Fall For Cindy can continue her good form by taking out the Tooheys BM 72 Handicap (Sydney Race 4, 1600m). The John O’Shea-trained 3YO has won twice this preparation and she did a good job last start sitting on the pace when she took out a mile race at Kensington. The filly is very fit and her rider Tyler Schiller has been in terrific form. From barrier 7, Schiller will sit just behind the pace and Fall For Cindy will keep on winning.

The Waller-trained Vowmaster is the class horse in the MMM Thunder Thousand BM 78 Handicap and he is the one they have to beat (Sydney Race 6, 1000m). The gelding ran a great 3rd before his spell in the Magic Millions Sprint at the Gold Coast behind that good horse King Of Sparta. The speedster had won first-up before and 1000m suits. With plenty of pace in the race, Kerrin McEvoy will drop back in the field and Vowmaster will have a last crack at them.

Military Expert maps very well in The Coast and could give Annabel Neasham stable another feature race win (Sydney Race 8, 1600m). The 4YO has a good record over the mile having a 3rd placed finish in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap in the spring. First up three weeks ago, Military Expert drawn barrier 12 and lost ground in the run home when 10th at Randwick. He has drawn much better (gate 1) on Saturday and has strong second-up form with two wins from three runs. Rachel King will go to the lead and Military Expert could prove hard to catch.
