Galaxy winner Bel Sprinter is a confirmed starter in the Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on Satutrday week.
Jason Warren said Bel Sprinter, who resumed with a ninth in the Oakleigh Plate, would leave on Sunday for Sydney.
Warren said if Bel Sprinter performed well the Galaxy would be a likely progression.
More immediate, Danger Close delivered on a two month plan for Warren when he won the Bushnell Outdoor Products Handicap on Wednesday at Sportingbet Park.
Warren also saddled up Senor Juez, which was sent out a $2.60 favorite, but it was Danger Closer, a $13 chance, that prevailed.
“I could not split Senor Juez and Danger Close,” Warren said.
“I earmarked this race for Senor Juez two months ago so to have two runners was just by coincidence. I would have preferred to have just the one.”
Warren said Newitt delivered on the “perfect way” to ride Danger Close while Michael Rodd gave Senor Juez every chance and he believes the three-year-old may now be looking for 1200-1400 metres.
