Leading jockey Hugh Bowman will ride Guelph first-up in the Light Fingers Stakes at Royal Randwick on February 22 with Kerrin McEvoy expected to be in Melbourne for the Blue Diamond Stakes.
The star three-year-old filly is set to ramp up her autumn carnival preparations with a barrier trial on Tuesday morning at Rosehill Gardens.
Trainer Peter Snowden indicated Guelph would start her campaign in the Light Fingers Stakes over 1200m before progressing to the Surround Stakes over 1400m a fortnight later at Warwick Farm.
Snowden said Guelph was a chance of running in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic third-up over 1500m at Rosehill but the star filly could potential run against the colts and geldings in the Phar Lap Stakes over the same distance on the same day.
“It just depends what weight she gets in the Coolmore and the weight of the other horses,” Snowden said.
“Having the Phar Lap Stakes on the same day gives us an option to go there if we want.”
Guelph would then head towards the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m), restricted to three-year-old fillies only, before a decision is made whether she would tackle the Doncaster Mile or Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
