Deamer’s Mare Will Get All The Advantages (Sat, 23rd Apr)

Jason Deamer makes a trip to Rosehill Gardens on Saturday knowing his mare Our Renaissance will be given every chance to win by jockey Tim Clark.

The five-year-old lines up in the TAB.com.au Handicap (1100m) and from the tricky start will have the luxury of jumping from barrier 1.

She’s coming off a good first-up win over 1000 metres at Wyong on March 30, much to the relief of Deamer and his connections after she suffered a bleed when third at Warwick Farm last October.

“She’s come back well from that and is showing no signs of doing that again,” Deamer said.

“She was nice first-up and she’s trained on well since so I’m happy heading into the race.

“The mare can get a bit keen in her races, but she’ll race handy on Saturday from that ideal barrier.

“Tim wanted to stay on her which is a good sign for me and I hope it doesn’t rain too much because she’s a dry tracker.”

The track at Rosehill is currently rated a Good 4 with the chance of a shower in the lead-up to the race.

In what will be one of the more competitive events on the day with the likes of Alart, Tahitian Black, Fiftyshadesofgrey and Glenbawn Dame lining up, Deamer said his mare deserved her crack at a metropolitan Saturday race.

“It’s a step up again but she gets in well in weights and she’ll get the run of the race from where she is,” Deamer said.

“Winning in Sydney on a Saturday is difficult but I know she’ll run a good race and try hard. She always puts in her best.”

TAB fixed-odds rate her an $11 chance in what is a very open field with the Godolphin runner Mogador the early $3.70 favourite.

The first of nine races at Rosehill jumps at 12pm.
