Dubai Duty Free winner Just A Way has been made to work hard to win the Group One Yasuda Kinen in Tokyo.
Rated as one of the best horses in the world after his romp at Meydan, the five-year-old only just caught outsider Grand Prix Boss who finished down the field behind Frankel in the St James’s Palace Stakes three years ago.
Jockey Yoshitomi Shibata allowed Grand Prix Boss to gain a healthy advantage in the straight before asking Just A Way for his closing effort.
Just A Way responded to win by a neck.
He holds an entry in the Champion Stakes at Leopardstown where he would become the first Japanese horse to compete in Ireland.
