Jamie Kah took another step towards her long-awaited return to the races when she rode in several official trials at Cranbourne on Monday.
Kah linked up with trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace to win consecutive 800-metre heats on Boldinho and Stakes-winning mare Steinem, the latter in a star-studded hit-out alongside Nonconformist, Annavisto and Without A Fight.
The 27-year-old told Racing.com she was excited to be back at the trials and feeling fit and well, five months after a serious race fall at Flemington.
It is understood Kah will liaise with Racing Victoria’s chief medico after the trials on Monday to determine a timeline for her return to the races, which could come as early as next week.
Kah will face the Victorian Racing Tribunal next Monday (August 14) on a charge of conduct prejudicial to the image of racing, which relates to the publication of images of the jockey with a white powder at a private gathering in June.
