Star jockey Jamie Kah will ride More Felons in next Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.
Formerly known as Scriptwriter, More Felons made his Australian debut for trainer Chris Waller in the Geelong Cup, where he finished fifth.
More Felons was purchased earlier this year by a group of Australians, including prominent owner Richard Pegum, who race the horse under The Ashes syndicate banner.
He will carry 50kg in the Melbourne Cup.
The versatile stayer has spent much of his career racing over hurdles, before switching back to the flat for Royal Ascot, where he finished seventh in the Copper Horse Handicap (2800m), 12-and-three-quarter lengths behind Melbourne Cup favourite Vauban.
He finished second, a head behind Hamish, in the Group 3 John Smith’s Silver Cup Stakes (2800m) at York, and eighth of 22 in the Ebor in August.
