Karakatsanis Looking To Start Fresh

Sydney trainer Con Karakatsanis is keen to make a fresh start at Warwick Farm with his nine month disqualification now over.

Karakatsanis must front the Racing NSW licencing committee before he is allowed to return to the training ranks but is hopeful of getting the green light within the next fortnight.

Formerly based at Rosehill Gardens, Karakatsanis has shifted base to Warwick Farm, where he has built new stables with 16 boxes.

Karakatsanis was hit with a nine month disqualification after being found guilty of arranging to stomach tube Howmuchdoyouloveme prior to the running of the Yellowglen Stakes at Flemington back in 2012.

“Fingers crossed in the next two weeks the doors will be open again,” Karakatsanis said.

“I’ve got to apply for my licence again, hopefully that should be sorted in the next two weeks.

“The new stables are almost completed and ready to have horses back in them so the timing should be quite good.

“It has been tough being on the sidelines but I am looking forward to making a fresh start at Warwick Farm.”
