Lucky Nine Arrives At Werribee Quarantine

Champion Hong Kong sprinter Lucky Nine arrived at the Werribee quarantine centre in good condition after an eight hour trip.

Lucky Nine was relaxed, ate and drank during the duration of the trip, according to Hong Kong Jockey Club veterinarian Robyn Graham, who accompanied the six-year-old.

Graham said Lucky Nine, a last start winner of the KrisFlyer at Singapore’s Kranji racecourse, was a seasoned traveller.

She noted the horse had travelled to Dubai and Tokyo as well as Singapore in the past.

“This is the longest trip he’s been on, but he was so relaxed,” Graham said.

“He travelled really well and was straight into his feed when he got to Werribee.”

Lucky Nine, a winner of five Group 1 races, will contest the Manikato and Patinack Farm Classic Stakes.
Trainer Caspar Fownes is expected to make the trip to Melbourne to check out the horse in the next week.
