Former Japanese galloper Meiner Freccia heads to Canterbury Park on Wednesday following two solid performances on the provincial circuit which has yielded a win and a third placing from his first two runs on Australian soil.
The Stay Gold gelding has continued to pleased Kim (Waugh) in the lead up to his third run and Wednesday race looks a nice stepping stone before we step up to the longer staying distances.
“Meiner Freccia is very well, he’s shown promise in both race starts for me and heads to Canterbury in good form. The horse has drawn a touch awkwardly in barrier 10 and we will most likely take a sit,” added Kim.
Whilst Meiner Freccia has been placed on rain effected track in Japan and Kim believes it will be a case of wait and see how her Japanese galloper will handle the track under race conditions, Canterbury is currently rated as a soft 7. Once again Sam Clipperton has been booked to guide Meiner Freccia when he takes his place in race 7 More Than Just Winning Hcp over 1550m.
