She might be small, but one-time racetrack darling Miracles Of Life has a big heart and new co-trainer Paul Snowden is pleased she does.
First-up for him and his father, Peter, when a dead-heat winner of the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint with Bel Sprinter on October 18, Miracles Of Life has come through that tough race remarkably well.
“I really like the way she has bounced back from that (first-up run)” Snowden told Racing Network on Wednesday.
“She had a very good grounding going into that race though.
“When we bought her at the Gold Coast she was pretty-much spent, so we gave her a long spell, as long as she wanted, then we gave her a long, slow prep with a couple of good trials and she went into the Caulfield race pretty fit having done a lot of work,” Snowden explained.
(Thursday) she will tackle the Group 3 $200,000 Mumm Stakes (1100m) at Flemington against a hot field of quality sprinting mares.
“It’s a good field but she has the quality and the ability to be highly competitive again,” he added.
Miracles Of Life is the equal top-weight with 59kgs along with Gregers, and in the latest fixed-odds market she has been marked an $8 chance.
