Peter Moody’s crack sprinter Moment Of Change will progress to the Group 1 $400,000 Schweppes (Moir) Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on September 27.
Managing owner Rob Slade, from Slade Bloodstock, today confirmed the horse would run in the Group 1, despite being beaten when a short-priced favourite in last Saturday’s Group 2 $175,000 McEwen Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley.
Slade said considering the brilliant time the winner, Kuroshio, ran in the race (57.8 sec), Moment Of Change’s effort was good.
“He did that giving the winner a massive 6.5kg as well, so you cannot be disappointed in the run – gave significant weight and ran super time himself,” Slade said.
He added trainer Peter Moody would be looking to add “some head-gear” to Moment Of Change before his next start.
“It promises to be a great race with horses such as Buffering, Snitzerland, Bel Sprinter and several others lining up,” Slade concluded.
