Following his brave fifth in Saturday’s Group 2 $300,000 Brisbane Cup (2400m) behind Peter Moody’s Floria, Mr O’Ceirin will now wait three weeks for the Listed $175,000 Caloundra Cup (2400m) at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, June 28.
“He’s pulled up brilliantly – no issue with him at all, and he’ll definitely go to the Caloundra Cup – it was three weeks from Saturday,” trainer Ciaron Maher told Racing Network (Tuesday).
The rising seven-year-old is in good form, going into the Brisbane Cup with a solid second in the Group 2 $250,000 Eagle Farm Cup (2200m) behind the Chris Waller-trained Moriarty.
“He’s fit and very sound and enjoying his racing,” Maher explained.
