Trainer Tony Vasil’s decision to pay a late-entry fee for Prince Harada into the $1 million Golden Rose has completely re-shuffled the market on the race.
Connections paid the late-entry fee of $50,000 on Monday and the 3YO, desperately unlucky in Saturday’s McNeil Stakes at Caulfield, immediately shot to $3.60 favourite for the race.
The winner of the McNeil Stakes, Fast ‘N’ Rocking, is the second favourite in latest fixed-odds betting at $5.00, leaving two Victorian colts at the top of the market.
Chris Waller-trained Zoustar is the third favourite at $7.
Early favourite Sidestep who suffered severe interference in the Run To The Rose has eased to $13.00 for the Group 1 race.
