Radical Change To Training Regime For Moody Import

High quality former international galloper My Quest For Peace has been the subject of a radical change to his training regime.

A member of the powerful Peter Moody stable at Caulfield and owned by the prominent OTI Racing group, My Quest For Peace is somewhat of a ‘guinea-pig’.

OTI Racing’s Principal, Terry Henderson, today siad Moody had adopted a whole new training approach with My Quest For Peace.

“He’s by Galileo, and we are aware that they have not been all that successful in Australia,” Henderson started.

“If you work them hard on a Tuesday, they don’t seem to take that to the races on a Saturday, so we’ve changed everything.

“He is virtually trained like he would be back in England,” Henderson explained.

“Lots of long, slow work without sprinting them up and let their natural speed take-over on race-day.

“He’ll go into the Underwood Stakes on Saturday a very fresh racehorse and it will be extremely interesting to see how he performs,” he said.

My Quest For Peace ran a close fifth in last year’s Caulfield Cup and tenth in the Melbourne Cup.

He resumed this Spring with a lack-lustre 12th of 13 in the Memsie Stakes won brilliantly by Atlantic Jewel at Caulfield on August 31.

“We’ve got a few more by Galileo coming out so we have to work out how to make them acclimatise to Australian conditions,” Henderson added.
