Sadler Targets Hong Kong Mile With Linton

John Sadler is shooting for the Hong Kong Mile with Linton, which is about one month from resuming.

Sadler said he has three first-up options with the Stradbroke Handicap, which has been back in work for the past eight weeks.

He said the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Friday, September 27, the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) on Sunday, September 29 or the Gilgai Stakes (1200m) on Saturday, October 5 were the considerations for Linton to open his spring campaign.

“That will lead him to the Emirates Mile and the Hong Kong Mile,” Sadler said.

“Linton is really good, I could not be happier with him. He’s ahead of schedule at the moment, he’s busting to do something.”

Sadler said he would make a decision at the end of the week whether he will continue the campaign of Vain Queen, which made it four from four in Saturday’s heat of the Sportingbet Sprint Series at Caulfield.

He noted that if Vain Queen had one more start it is likely to be in a 1200 metre race at Caulfield on September 21.
