Glyn Schofield is reunited in Saturday’s Chipping Norton Stakes with dual Group 1 winner Boban in what he describes as “important day”.
Schofield owns an unbeaten four rides, four wins record on Boban, including the Epsom and Emirates double.
But, Schofield acknowledges that Boban has not recaptured anything like his spring form during his two runs this preparation.
“It is an important day to see if he can bounce back with a really good performance,” Schofield said.
“His first two runs have not been what he showed in the spring. He was a bit one-paced.
“Hopefully, he can turn it around.”
Schofield is also wary that Boban could strike a rain affected track, something that he has not performed well on in the past.
Boban has finished out of the placings in his only two runs on slow ground.
Schofield said Boban has fitness on his side while It’s A Dundeel will be having his first run this campaign.
While he does not ride Boban in track work he said “all the indications are that Boban is as well as he can be.”
