Snitzerland Marked Favourite For Moir Stakes

Gerald Ryan’s flying mare Snitzerland has been installed favourite in a cracking Group 1 $450,000 Moir Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Snitzerland hasn’t raced since running seventh to Platelet in the Group 1 $400,000 Sangster Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville in April.

She has been marked the $4.00 favourite ahead of local star Bel Sprinter at $4.20 and Brisbane speedster Buffering at $4.60.

Dwayne Dunn has been booked to ride Snitzerland from barrier three, while Damien Oliver will partner Bel Sprinter from barrier one and Damien Browne will ride Buffering from gate six.

Bel Sprinter hasn’t been seen on a racetrack since his brave second to Hong Kong star Lucky Nine in the $S1 million KrisFlyer International Sprint (1200m) at Kranj  in Singapore, on May 19.

Ironically, Lucky Nine arrived in Melbourne yesterday from Hong Kong and he will be waiting for Bel Sprinter for his next two starts – the $1 million Manikato Stakes (1200m) and the $1 million Patinack Farm Stakes (1200m).
