Steps In Time will be given a solid test at the Warwick Farm barrier trials on Friday in preparation for her swansong in the Group 1 Tatts Tiara.
Trainer Joe Pride said the fillies-and-mares Group 1 at Eagle Farm on Saturday week would definitely be the final run of the top mare’s career.
Steps In Time was given a short let-up following her run in the T.J. Smith Stakes and Pride is pleased with her progress since.
“She seems good. I’ve been fairly happy with her. She’s had a good couple of weeks, and is in good order,” he said.
“She went back to the owners’ place, Meredith Park, for close enough to two weeks. We had a foot abscess to get over and it was easier to have her out of work, so we rested it completely
“We’ll know more on Friday because I want to see her trial very well.”
Steps In Time is likely to clash with three-year-old fillies Srikandi and Cosmic Endeavour in the final Group 1 race of the season.
