Lloyd Williams will produce yet another of his powerful Cups arsensal on Saturday when former Irish stayer Seville kicks off his campaign in the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield.
Williams has booked champion jockey Craig Williams to ride Seville, which hasn’t started since he stormed home to finish second, beaten a long neck, behind stablemate Green Moon in the Turnbull.
Seville had come off a fast finishing fifth behind Folding Gear and Mr O’Ceirin in the Naturalism Stakes.
The horse was ruled out of both the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups with a virus and did not re-appear in the autumn.
Apart from Seville, Williams plans to run Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon, to be ridden by Brett Prebble, in the Memsie.
Former European Sea Moon, Masked Marvel and Hartani are expected to run next month with the Makybe Diva likely to be the kick off point for Sea Moon and Masked Marvel.
