Waugh-Trained Dowdstown Charlie Racing At Warwick Farm On Wednesday

Dowdstown Charlie heads to Warwick Farm on Wednesday taking his place in race 5 Hyland Race Colours Hcp over 2200m.

The Myboycharlie gelding has been racing consistently well  of late and lines up for his sixth race start this prep fit and well with the stable more than happy with his progress since finishing fifth over 1900m at Canterbury in a slightly harder benchmark 72 three weeks ago.

“Dowdstown Charlie is very well, he wasn’t suited by the stop start tactics of last start over the slightly shorter trip of 1900m I confident the step back up in distance along with the slight drop in grade back to benchmark 65 on a rain affected track are all factors which Dowdstown Charlie will appreciate. The horse has been racing well of late and has drawn nicely in barrier 4 hopefully Kerrin will be able to settle Charlie a touch closer in the run and with the right run in transit Dowdstown Charlie is more than capable of being most competitive,’ added Kim (Waugh)

. Kerrin McEvoy has ridden Dowdstown Charlie in his last four starts and will again guide the gelding in the fifth race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
