Three Way Battle For First Season Sire Honour

There is currently a titanic struggle for the first season sire premiership between Sebring, Real Saga and Northern Meteor.

Former Gai Waterhouse-trained Golden Slipper winner Sebring (More Than Ready x Purespeed, by Flying Spur) has 5 individual winners from 15 starters this season, winning $191,795 in prizemoney.

But the exciting young stallion Real Saga (Tale of the Cat x Windy Kate, by Air Express) has taken the lead in the first season sire honour courtesy of his filly Real Surreal. The Kelso Wood-trained Real Surreal has won impressively last Saturday and will back up in this Saturday’s $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast where victory would give Real Saga a commanding lead in the prizmeoney race.

As it stands, Real Saga has 3 winners from 7 starters with prizemoney totalling $213,200.

Another former Waterhouse trained stallion Northern Meteor (Encosta de Lago x Explosive, by Fappiano) is a close third with 3 winners from 8 starters and $149,000 in prizemoney.
