Racing Victoria (RV) is examining the report released yesterday by Racing Integrity Commissioner Sal Perna, 2012 Own Motion Inquiry into Race Fixing.
Commissioner Perna is calling for widening powers at State and Federal level to help assist him to investigate further cases along with racing industries.
Following release of the Race Fixing report, Minister for Racing in Victoria Denis Napthine says if any of the 11 recommendations from Perna report are acted on, they’ll go through Parliament before the end of 2013.
RV Chief Executive Officer Bernard Saundry said the report and its contents would be discussed with the Board at its meeting on February 7.
He said RV intended to work with the Commissioner and the Government to consider the merits of the various recommendations contained within the report.
