Waterhouse Stable Reports To Stewards – Laser Hawk (W.Farm Sat)

Please be advised the Gai Waterhouse stable has advised Racing NSW Stewards that Laser Hawk – which is accepted to race in the Apollo Stakes (Race 6, No 5) at Warwick Farm on Saturday (23 February 2013) –  underwent arthroscopic surgery to its off fore knee on 16 April 2012, after running third in the ATC Derby in April 2012.

The stable further advised that Laser Hawk has competed well in two barrier trials in January leading up to the Apollo Stakes but since it’s last trial on 17 January 2013, the gelding sustained a minor hoof injury to the off hind foot.

Mr Newnham, representing the stable,  advised that Laser Hawk galloped strongly on Tuesday, 19 February 2013 and again worked well this morning (Wednesday, 20 February) and the stable will tender a veterinary clearance from stable veterinarian Dr Leanne Begg.

Laser Hawk will be subject to an examination by Racing NSW Senior Official Veterinarian, Dr Craig Suann,  when it arrives on-course this Saturday.
