Stated he was instructed to have the filly midfield with cover, however, after being slow to begin he elected, from the wide barrier, to restrain mount resulting in him being further back. Trainer confirmed the instructions, however, had no intention in having the filly as far back as it was today and was of the opinion, with the speed in the race, a position midfield with cover, in his view was the likely outcome. Mr Ryan also outlined that he took the blinkers off the filly as it was failing to finish its races off and whilst was ridden contrary at its last start at Rosehill on February 16, the instructions then and today were the same.

RACE 8:-
Horse No. 5 – FONTELINA (Flemington 9/3/2013):  Brushed on two occasions with another runner approaching the 600m.
