Oliver To Front Licensing Sub-Committee

Just one day after the long-awaited Damien Oliver inquiry report was tabled in parliament, news has emerged he is attempting to get his licence back.

The banned jockey was outed for 10 months after being found guilty of placing a $10,000 bet on a horse at Moonee Valley.

The horse he backed – Miss Octopussy – won the race and he rode another horse in the same race.

This morning’s Fairfax media reports Oliver will front a Racing Victoria licensing sub-committee tomorrow morning.

That sub-committee will then present a report to the Racing Victoria Board the following week.

If re-licensed, Oliver would be eligible to resume riding track-work on July 14 and return to race riding two months later on September 14.
