Winners For This Saturday’s Sydney Meeting at Rosehill (1st Jul)

The Sydney Saturday meeting will be held at Rosehill Gardens this weekend (1st Jul). The course proper was rated a Soft 5 on Thursday and with mainly fine weather in Sydney over the next couple of days, Rosehill will be racing on a Good track on raceday.

Plundering could set punters on the winning way by taking out the opening event at Rosehill (Sydney Race 1, 1300m). This Annabel Neasham-trained gelding has only missed a place once in seven career starts and he did well with a close 2nd two weeks ago over this course and distance. The 3YO has been allotted with 61kg but has gone down in class and the small field will suit. Chad Schofield will sit just behind the pace and he will be too strong in the run home.

Miracle Spin has been very consistent this campaign finishing in the first three six times from seven starts and he is primed to take out the Toyata Forklifts Handicap (Sydney Race 7, 2400m). The lightly raced 4YO is very fit and is ready to step up to one and a half miles. The gelding likes Rosehill as he has never missed a place from three starts at the venue. With steady pace up front, Jason Collett will settle back in the field and Miracle Spin will fly down the Rosehill straight.

Kibou finished 2nd to the in-form Iowna Merc first-up at Randwick three weeks ago and he can go one better in the Furphy Handicap (Sydney Race 8, 1500m). In the spring, this 3YO gelding had been mixing with top horses like Osipenko, Zoukerino and Spacewalk culminating to victory in the Up & Coming Stakes by beating the eventual Caulfield Guineas winner Golden Mile. Regan Bayliss knows the horse well and he will take advantage of gate 1 by going straight to the lead. Bayliss will control the pace of the race and Kibou could prove hard to catch.
