Neasham Undecided On Kristilli Plans

Annabel Neasham’s promising filly Kristilli could make her way down to Melbourne for this year’s Spring Carnival.

The rising three-year-old took out the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick in April at just her second race start and has already been to the barrier trials this preparation.

“She’s a really nice Hellbent filly that Lizzie Jelfs is in the ownership (of),” Neasham said.

“I’m excited to see what she can do, I don’t know whether she’ll end up out over a mile maybe down at Caulfield in a Thousand Guineas or if she might even be more of a Coolmore horse down the straight, time will tell.

“She’ll kick off in Sydney here in the third week of August and then we’ll make a bit of a plan from there.”

Neasham is also excited about the prospects of Sunshine In Paris, who’s won three of her five starts, including a strong edition of the G1 Surround Stakes at her most recent run.

“She’s very lightly raced but what we saw her do in the Surround Stakes beating the likes of In Secret, Zougotcha and Ruthless Dame was really exciting,” she said.

“I think she’ll go on with it now as a four-year-old, I haven’t worked out an exact path with her yet, we’ll see how she comes up in trials.

“She’s obviously a Group 1 winner in her own age group but we’re looking to add to that. She probably kicks off in the Sheraco Stakes first and then we’ll go from there.”

Neasham also revealed that Reisling Stakes heroine Learning To Fly will be an absentee from this year’s Spring Carnival after sustaining an injury in the Golden Slipper, but hopes to have her back for the autumn in a race like the G1 Surround Stakes next year.
