John Singleton’s Racing And Breeding Empire Fetches $14 million

The dispersal auction for Strawberry Hill Stud, part of John Singleton’s equine breeding and racing venture, generated nearly $14 million this past Tuesday.

Yulong Investments, conducting business under the name Highway Farm, was a prominent player, acquiring 13 lots.

Their standout purchase was Miss Fabulass, sold for $1.85 million.

A daughter of Frankel and Samantha Miss, Miss Fabulass had a track record that featured a win in the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes among her three victories.

Now eight years old, she has given birth to a filly by Written Tycoon and a colt by I Am Invincible, the latter fetching $950,000 in the same auction.

Additional noteworthy purchases by Yulong included the Redoute’s Choice mare Mokolua, in foal to Frankel, for $1.6 million, and multiple G1 winner More Joyous at $450,000.

Trainers such as Ciaron Maher, Mick Price, Gai Waterhouse, and Robbie Griffiths were also active, snapping up Strawberry Hill yearlings.

Altogether, the 55 lots brought in a sum of $15,497,000 during the exclusive auction, overseen by Magic Millions at Singleton’s Mount White estate.
