Import galloper Drunker Sailor broke down in last Saturday’s Group 1 Underwood stakes and subsequent X-rays had revealed bone chips in a fetlock. Originally trained at Newmarket by Luca Cumani, Drunker Sailor came to Australia for the Melbourne Cup in 2010 and 2011 where he was unplaced on both occasions. He was later transferred to Mike Moroney’s stable. In seven starts for Moroney, Drunken Sailor only missed a place twice with his best performance being a close second in the Group 2 Adelaide Cup under 59.5kg.
