Winners For This Saturday’s Sydney Meeting At Randwick (27th Jul)

This Saturday’s Sydney meeting will be held at Royal Randwick (27th Jul). The course proper was rated a Good 4 on Thursday and with fine weather in Sydney leading up to the weekend, Randwick will be racing on a Good track on raceday.

Perennial Highway winner Matthew Dale has a top chance, Field The Moment, in the Highway Plate (Sydney Race 2, 1800m). The 4YO mare has been very consistent having won once with three good 2nds in her last four starts. Field The Moment did a good job last start here at Randwick in a slowly run race where she knuckled down to get up for 2nd. She’s rock hard fit and is ready to step up to 1800m. The in-form Tyler Schiller will settle mid-field and Field The Moment will let down strongly in the last two furlong.

The Waller-trained Autumnmation could be a terrific light weight chance to take out the James Squire Handicap (Sydney Race 4, 1800m). This “The Autumn Sun” filly has not missed a place with two wins and two 3rds in her four starts this campaign. The 3YO will be fifth-up on Saturday and is ready to step up to 1800m and she has only been allotted with the limit weight of 53kg. There is a good chance that Kerrin McEvoy will go to the front to control the pace and together with her light weight, Autumnmation could prove hard to catch.

Boston Rocks could only finished 6th first-up on a Heavy 8 track four weeks ago and the gelding can redeem himself by taking out the TAB Handicap (Sydney Race 5, 1100m). The 3YO could not accelerate on the Heavy track last start and back to a good track on Saturday will suit much better as all his three career victories came on Good tracks. Boston Rocks is a big strong horse hence the booking of a strong rider like Nash Rawiller will also suit. Rawiller will go forward and probably sit one off one back and Boston Rocks will be very strong at the finish.
