Charge Forward Muscling In On Juvenile Races

Former Golden Slipper runner-up Charge Forward (Red Ransom x Sydney’s Dream, by Bletchingly) has shown his strength in breeding early 2 year old winners. He bred the quinella in last Saturday’s Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington with winner Direct Charge (Charge Forward x Lady Of Choice, by Redoute’s Choice) and runner-up Crack A Roadie (Charge Forward x Road to Damascus, by Flying Spur).

In Sydney, Charge Forward continued his winning way with the Clarry Connors trained 2 year old, Assail (Charge Forward x Emanday, by Redoute’s Choice), successful in the Fonterra Foodservice Hcp at Warwick Farm last Saturday.

Charge Forward who himself was a precocious 2 year old, finished 2nd in both Group 1 Golden Slipper and Sires Produce Stakes behind Dance Hero in 2004. Charge Forward returned as a 3YO to confirm his abundant class and brilliance by winning the Group 2 San Domenico Stakes and the Group 1 The Galaxy.

Charge Forward currently holds the lead on the 2YO Sires table with prizemoney of $340,250, ahead of notable juvenile sires Snitzel and Not A Single Doubt. Charge Forward’s 2012 service fee is $24,750.
